Dundalk Fall Fair Ambassador Competition
The Dundalk Fall Fair Ambassador program has been present in Dundalk for over 50 years.
We are proud to say that we are one of the oldest competitions running today.
Initiated in 2005 and through continuous sponsorship, we are proud to offer a $1,500 educational scholarship to the Senior Ambassador upon completion of their term.
The Dundalk Ambassador Committee is excited for the potential growth of the Fair Ambassador program and is delighted to keep this long- established tradition going strong.

2026 Competition Rules
JR Ambassador Competition Rules:
Competitors (boys and girls) must be between the ages of 11 and 15 years old as of August 1, 2026.
Each competitor is interviewed by a panel of judges between on the evening of the competition.
Each competitor must prepare a short speech (2-4 minutes) on a topic of his/her choice (relating it back to this year's fair theme), to be given during the opening ceremonies.
Junior Prizes
1st - $125; 2nd - $75; 3rd - $50; 4th - $25
All contestants will receive a gift for participation.
The winner may receive additional prize money or gifts upon completion of their term.
SR Ambassador Competition Rules:
Competitors (boys and girls) must be between the ages of 17 and 23 years old as of August 1, 2026.
Each competitor is interviewed by a panel of judges between on the evening of the competition.
Each competitor must prepare a short speech (3-5 minutes) on a topic of his/her choice (relating it back to this year's fair theme), to be given during the opening ceremonies.
Senior Prizes
1st - $300; 2nd - $150; 3rd - $100; 4th - $50
All contestants will receive a gift for participation.
The winner will receive additional scholarship money upon completion of their term.
Each competitor is required to demonstrate his/her understanding of the rules of the Ambassador Competition. In the event that the winner cannot represent the Dundalk Fair at all of the events, the first runner-up will be asked to attend and the scholarship will be distributed between the two candidates (as decided by the Dundalk Ag. Society Ambassador Committee).

What is a fair ambassador? What do they do during their tenure? How can I join the competition? >> This meet and greet session is a great opportunity for potential competitors to meet with current/past ambassadors, our committee, and ask questions about what a fair ambassador does and how they can prepare to compete. Parents are also welcome to attend!

The Senior Ambassador will also get the chance to attend the OAAS convention in February and the CNE Ambassador of the Fairs competition in August.

expand your comfort zone
It's not just about the speech... Being a fair ambassador allows you to grow as an individual introducing you to new opportunities and activities.
Many of our ambassadors have started their term being very timid, but after attending different events and sharing their ideas with other youth they feel more comfortable public speaking and interacting with others.

It's all about new faces, new places and new perspectives.
Our ambassador committee will support you throughout the year while you attend different events, along with your fellow ambassador. Your JR/SR will be an amazing mentor during your term - many of past ambassadors keep in touch with their JR/SR long after the year is over.
