IT IS REQUESTED THAT EXHIBITORS BECOME FAMILIAR
WITH THE FOLLOWING RULES AS THEY WILL BE
STRICTLY ENFORCED, NO ONE IS ALLOWED IN THE
EXHIBIT AREA FROM 1 P.M. TO 6 P.M. ON FRIDAY
EXCEPT FAIR OFFICIALS.
1. Membership is $5.00. Exhibitors must be paid up
members to show in any class, unless stated
elsewhere in rules. All persons pay admission at
gate. Membership card does NOT
allow admittance
to the grounds.
2. If any exhibit is exhibited with no member’s name on
same, no prize money will be awarded.
3. Exhibit tags will not be mailed. Arrangements can be
made to pick them up in Dundalk before the day of
the Fair if requested.
4. Exhibitors are limited to one entry per section in all
classes unless stated differently in individual classes
with the exception of the livestock classes.
5. Exhibits must be in the hall by 11:30 a.m. on the first
day of the show and the livestock must be in by
10:30 the second day. No later.
6. Exhibits in the hall may be removed only after
5:00pm on the Saturday, NOT BEFORE.
(Livestock
4:15). Exhibit hall is NOT open on
Sunday.
7. Exhibits in the Homecraft Division including the
Junior Fair must be the work of the exhibitor within
the last two years, and only one entry may be made
in each section by the same exhibitor.
8. All animals must be the property of the exhibitor
and grain, roots, seeds, garden produce and fruit
must have been grown during the present year on
land occupied by the exhibitor.
9. All prize money offered at this Fair, if not competed
for, shall become the property of the Society.
10. Persons awarding special prizes in goods shall
not deliver same without a written order from
the Society.
11. Proof of registration of livestock must be shown to
the Judge and the Director in charge on request.
Animals must compete in their own age class, no
animal eligible to compete in more than one class
with the exception of championship groups.
12. Any animal or poultry with any contagious condition
or disease must be isolated from other livestock at
the fair.
13. No cattle may be brought to the fairgrounds without
a R.F.I.D. (Canadian Cattlemans Identification
Association Radio Frequency Identification) Tag.
14. Exhibits entering the Family Exhibit must follow the
rules listed immediately following these rules and
regulations.
15. In the absence of competition in any section, or if
the stock or articles exhibited are of inferior quality,
the Judge will exercise discretion as to whether they
will award first, second or any prize.
16. While the Directors will take every reasonable
precaution to ensure safety of animals or articles
exhibited, they wish to be distinctly understood that
owners themselves must take the risk of exhibiting
them and should any animals or articles be actually
injured, lost, stolen, or strayed, the Directors will
give every assistance in their power towards the
recovery of the lost, or injured exhibit, but will make
no payment in whole or in part value thereof. The
Directors will take every precaution to prevent
accidents, but will not hold themselves responsible
for any accidents on the Fair Grounds, and shall
indemnify the Society against all legal or proceedings
in regard thereto.
17. Persons paying admission and entering grounds
are asked to take precaution to avoid injury to
themselves as the Society WILL NOT BE
HELD
RESPONSIBLE should
injury occur.
18. In case an error occurs in the printing of the
prize list, the Directors have the power to rectify
the same.
19. In case of bad or unfavourable weather or other
reasons causing receipts to fall short of payment,
the expenses, a proportionate amount exclusive
of membership will be deducted from such prizes
and enable the Directors to balance the account
without loss.
20. The decision of the Judges stands unless they
are contrary to the rules, and no person will be
allowed to interfere with them in the discharge of
their duties.
21. Prize money will not be paid if won in any way
contrary to the regulations, and exhibits winning
by fraud will forfeit all premiums won.
22. Prizes will be paid on request after October 30, and
all prize money and special prizes not collected
before December same year, will be retained by the
Society. PLEASE CASH CHEQUES PROMPTLY,
as
per stamp on cheque.
23. Concession space is available on a first come first
serve basis.
24. Persons under 19 years of age are not required to
pay a membership unless exhibiting in classes that
are not age specific, i.e. Junior and Teen Fair.
Although you are not required to pay a membership
you are required to have an exhibitor number/card
which you will receive when you register.
25. All entries must be listed on an entry form. The
entry form is provided in the Prize List book or from
the secretary. An entry tag must be secured to each
entry. Entry tags are available from the secretary
when you register. It is possible to register with the
secretary and receive entry forms and tags prior to
the fair date. When the exhibitor has completed the
entry form TWO COPIES GO TO THE SECRETARY
and the exhibitor retains one copy.
26. Points in each class will be awarded on the following
basis: 1st prize, 4 points; 2nd prize, 3 points;
3rd prize, 2 points; 4th prize, 1 point. NO POINTS
will be awarded for Special Sections.
27. FIRST YEAR EXHIBITORS -
Please indicate at
bottom of all entry tags that you are a first year
Exhibitor. Pertains to Classes 11 through to and
including Class 21.
28. The Committee reserves the right to withhold
awarding a prize for most points if the exhibitor does
not have a minimum of two (2) prize winning entries
in the group of sections for the said prize.
