The 157th Dundalk Fall Fair -- September 7th, 8th, & 9th, 2012

 

DISTRICT 10
PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION
OBJECTIVES:
• To publicize the activities of the Agricultural Societies in
the District.
• To promote interest in exhibiting through Photography.
• To share new and different ideas with other Societies.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
a) Coloured slides and prints to be taken at the 2012
Home Fair.
b) Only one entry for each section from a Society.
c) All prints must be mounted individually on white bristol
board with 1" border. (This size and colour will be
strictly adhered to.)
d) Prints to be printed on photo paper.
e) No scotch tape on prints.
f) Each entry to be properly identified showing class,
section, and name of Society on back of bristol board.
No fair entry tags. Use Pencil.
g) If any of the above rules are not adhered to prints will be
disqualified.
h) All entries to be claimed by the society after the meeting.
i) All entries will be judged on the following scale:
40 points – Quality of photography (i.e. focused, angle of
shot, correct lighting)
40 points – Content of picture (i.e. representative of
category, does it appeal to viewer? Can it be
identified as a fair scene?)
20 points – Educational value (i.e. Does it tell a story?)
l) Slides and prints to be forwarded to Mrs. Mary Fowler,
(519-923-3051) 752155 West Back Line, R.R. #6, Dundalk,
Ontario, N0C 1B0 by October 14, 2012.

CLASS 1 – Colour Prints – Maximum 4" x 6"
Open to all cameras - 35 mm and digital
1. Having fun at the fair
2. Youth participating at your fair
3. Best vegetable display
4. Livestock show (excluding 4-H)
5. 4-H Livestock class
6. A child and their pet(s)
7. Someone taking an unexpected rest in an unusual
place (must be candid)
8. Senior(s) at your fair
9. Group display
10. Behind the scenes (candid)
11 Fair Ambassador involvement
12. Animals and people at your fair (together at
your fair)
13. Your best picture at the fair
14. Candid shot of spectator(s) at your fair
15. Live Action (singers, horse pulls, etc.)
16. What’s new at your fair
17. Child(ren) at your fair
18. A floral arrangement
19. A general display of your choice (at fair)
(woodworking, antiques, etc.)
20. JUNIOR SECTION: An interesting picture at your fair
taken by a child under 10 yeas of age.
No monetary prize money will be awarded.
