JUNIOR FAIR
(12 YEARS & UNDER)

NOTES:
a)    NO ENTRY FEE. Entries must be the work of the exhibitor within the past two years.
b)    Exhibitor MUST put their birth date on exhibit tag(s) (day, month, year). Exhibits will be judged only if present.
c)    All measurements are approximate.
d)    Prize money may be picked up at the Arena Office on the Saturday of the Fair from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
e)    Any items being attached to entries - please pin on. (This prevents items from being lost).
4 YEARS & UNDER
1.    Necklace made of your choice (beads, cereal, buttons) - must be wearable
2.    Teddy Bear dressed for special occasion
3.    Paper Bag Puppet - using other mediums
4.    Finger Painting on 23 cm x 30 cm (8 1/2" x 11") paper
5.    Paint a face on a rock - no larger than 15 cm (6") in diameter

11-12 YEARS OLD
18.    Handmade Mother's or Father's Day card (no computer work)
19.    Design your bedroom (in pop/water case) - use boxes, material, paper, small toys, etc.
20.    Item made from interlocking material (no kits - must be your design) - can be lego, k'nex, logs
21.    Decorate a fly swatter - for Hallowe'en

12 & UNDER - OPEN
22.    Bird feeder made from milk/juice carton, decorated - must be hangable
23.    Decorate a pine cone like a Christmas tree
24.    Using the shape of a Maple leaf, make a collage of things seen in Canada
25.    Farm collage - animals, equipment, people, on 23 cm x 30 cm (81/2" x 11") paper of your choice
26.    Half and half picture, cut a picture in half, glue one part onto page, then draw and colour to complete the whole picture.
27.    Christmas stocking - any medium, must be usable
28.    3 Paper snowflakes, mounted on blue construction paper, 23 cm x 30 cm (81/2" x 11")
29.    Knitted/crocheted/sewn item - 3" sample of material used, attached
30.    Make Easter Bunny - Handmade, any medium

BAKING:
All entries to be on a firm base and enclosed in a bag

    OAAS Rules - Contest open to youth ages 10 to 15 years (as of December 31, 2012). Plain chocolate chip cookies, with no nuts, must be no larger than 3 inches (6.75 cm) and no smaller than 2 inches (5 cm). Winner eligible to enter at the District Competition.

JUNIOR POSTER COMPETITION

“Original handmade design”
Entries include Junior up to and including Grade 6 ~
Entry Rules
1. “Promoting Your Fair” – Name and date of fair must be clearly shown on poster.
2. Must be hand drawn.
3. Poster size: Minimum – 8 1/2” X 11” (23cm X 28cm), without border
Maximum – 11” X 17” (28cm X 44cm), without border
4. Each entry must be centered on CARDSTOCK or BRISTOL BOARD exposing on all four sides showing a 2” border.
5. Name of fair, district, contact person, owner of poster and school to be clearly labeled on the back of each entry.
6. The winning poster from the class at the fair will be eligible to enter the district competition. District
winners are eligible to enter at the provincial competition.

Judging Standards

1. Overall Appearance – 20 points
2. Attract and hold attention – 30 points
3. Competition theme clear – 40 points
4. Quality materials/end product – 10 points
